The Most Beautiful Speakers Out There
These are the most beautiful speakers out there. The sound quality is amazing. My husband could not believe how they sounded. He loves them as much as I do. Thank you for a wonderful speaker.
Beautiful Sound and Looks
Have been loving our new speaker! Friends always comment on how great it sounds and also looks. Great sales and service staff - both knowledgeable and super friendly. Love the Princeton store.
These speakers are amazing.
Absolutely worth the price increase over Bose and Sonos generic sound. The overengineered bass sounds from Sonos/Bose cant begin to compare to the Site:1 warmth from the tonewood body-- I was deciding between mahogany and walnut-- went w mahogany and very happy --- well worth the purchase and the wait. You cant rush art.
The other thing I really like is the way the two speakers can bluetooth in true stereo--- beatles / steely dan sounds great-
Very slick control mechanisms/read outs.
Looking forward to more products from the PA team--
Great little speaker
The Site:1 sounds as good as it looks. Outstanding design, and very well-made. I have gotten many compliments on my Site:1. People are surprised by how much sound comes out of that little speaker, and everyone loves the way it looks. The staff at Princeton Audio are very responsive, and answered all my questions in a timely fashion. Plus, it's made in America, so what's not to like?
Excellent product many thanks my speakers are unique I am very excited the sound is perfect I love the music
Device Music Brought to Life
Some time ago my wife brought Princeton Audio to my attention because she met someone connected with the company at a blood drive. I finally stopped in at the Downtown Princeton location a few months ago because I noticed through Facebook that speakers were being discounted after dropping Amazon and I was very curious about a local company with, to me, a unique product. I was able to take home a well-packaged speaker that day. That speaker did bring my device music to life. I mean I had never really listened to music on any device before but now the only way I listen to music in my home is from a device through the Princeton Audio speakers. The sound was everything I had been told and demonstrated at the Princeton location and more. The look fits perfectly on my wife's new wooden shelf unit. So I decided to add the second speaker for stereo and also because Facebook again pointed out prices would be going up. When I went back to the Princeton location for my second speaker Aelwyn ordered one for me online saying, I believe, it would be six to eight weeks to arrive in the mail to my house. I stopped back in at the location about eight weeks later to ask for an update saying there is no pressure, just wanting information. I was allowed to take another well-packaged speaker home with me that day. Stereo is the way to go. The sound was wonderful from one speaker, it truly is room-filling from two and the room in our house is big (open concept). So, yes, I am very pleased with my Site 1 speakers. They are well-worth the price and wait. You will not be disappointed. My other recommendation is to stop in Princeton and see what they have done with an old, downtown building (the old Princeton Mall?). It really is impressive and makes you realize if they are willing to put that much work into an old building their product must be high quality.
Tranquilly by the Pacific, with our Stereo pair!
Thru sheer luck my husband was allowed to test a Site:1 in stunning lacquered Cherry and we loved this speaker. The test unit was not fully functional, as our own purchased set of Site:1s in Mahogany are and we agree two speakers is absolutely the way to go with Princeton Audio! The look and feel of the lacquered wood is a 10 though, I wept when my husband send this test speaker back to WI.
Once dialed into stereo (easy to do) you will be blown away by the separation and quality of the stereo you hear - even music via Bluetooth! You want to know why The ABB has been celebrated for 50 years? Well take a listen to Butch Trucks and Jai Johanny Johanson on any long jam from the remastered, expanded Fillmore East release. With each drummer coming from a different Site:1 the music comes alive in a way not heard before, and we have been listening to Live at Fillmore East since childhood. Ever wonder what Bob Weir did during Grateful Dead jams? Concentrate on his sound from the big Europe 72 release a few years back. Easy to do now with Bob coming from one channel, and even easier during a Dark Star from that epic tour to understand the kind of underpinnings Weir provided with his articulate and understated rhythm playing. Bobby took that band places then, and he still does. Vocals seem the star with the two Site:1s in Mahogany - Joni Mitchell and Billie Holiday both fill spaces in fantastic capacities now. It truly is music being listened to and appreciated in all new ways.
Setting the duo speakers outdoors while we sit and watch The Pacific is tranquility defined. The portability while experimenting with the substrate just makes owning the set really fun. Setting these speakers on different spots makes the experience dynamic and honestly youll grow as an audiophile learning what sounds best where. We took our pair recently to Ashland, OR and we were never so happy to have packed any item before, we drowned out the world really easily!
Thank you PA
I listen to music for a few hours in the morning and during my devotional time. The quality of sound is excellent. Thank you PA.
After finally receiving my speakers I must say I was not disappointed. I ordered the walnut cases and they are beautiful! The workmanship is outstanding! I love the "old-style" look with the grill and wood cabinet. They look great and add to our family room.
It was very easy to connect via blue tooth the connection process was very simple and took no time and we were listening to music.
The sound quality of these speakers was great! You will not be disappointed!
Great Battery - Great Sound
With the extended battery, I charge it once a month and listen to some reggae music with my 2 year old every morning :)
I received my speaker last week and am extremely happy with the purchase. It sounds amazing and looks beautiful. The craftsmanship and finish on the cabinet is impeccable, I love the way that it looks. That being said, looks don't mean anything if it doesn't sound great and this little speaker sounds fantastic. Thanks for a great product.
Excellent Sound and Service
I had ordered my second Site 1 speaker (for stereo) on April 14, 2017. June 9, 2017, I was in Princeton for an errand and decided to stop and ask how much longer. I said I was not complaining, just asking for information. Aelwyn remembered my name even though I had met her only once before back in April. Mike let me pick out and take a speaker with me that they were going to use in a photo shoot. That's service above and beyond. The sound is also above and beyond. I had had a single Site 1 for a while and had decided the sound it so good, it deserves to be in stereo. I was not disappointed. We have a large, open concept area in our house yet these speakers have no trouble filling the space with beautiful sound. Thank you, Princeton Audio.
Beautiful, simply beautiful
Beautiful in concept, design, and sound. I love it. I intend to move up to stereo at some time in the future.
Researched, purchased, met Michael and purchased another
I received an email from Princeton Audio which perplexed me since I had never heard of the company. Intrigued, I began to research and discovered the unique design of the speakers. Being a self-proclaimed audiophile and a practicing musician I was skeptical about the quality of sound. I played the samples from YouTube through my reference speakers at my studio and thought: if these speakers sounded remotely as good as they seem through these studio speakers, it is worth an investment. (I am a professor of music at Beloit College and I teach fundamentals of recording and editing.)
I purchased, after going through the 'test' and decided upon the Black Walnut. Knowing that it will take time to craft the speaker I decided to locate Princeton, WI. Discovering that it was about a 3 hour drive from Beloit, I went to Princeton with my wife on a Saturday. Immediately upon our arrival we met Michael. We spoke and received a demonstration. My assumption of quality was accurate. The speakers sounded as different, and good, as advertised. Each type of wood offers a different type of sound. What is amazing is that the company offers no pretension as to the complete sound spectrum of a normal speaker frequency response; knowing that the speakers are Bluetooth portable speakers, the company makes an effort to create a full rich sound without attempting to cover the spectrum.
Listening to these speakers is a real joy. I do miss the lower frequencies but am waiting for the subwoofer that is now in progress. However, the midrange and the upper partials are faithfully reproduced. I listen to mainly 'Classical' music. I can hear all the instruments through these speakers while appreciating the natural blending that is often associated with reference speakers--such as the ones in my studio. (I have B&W reference speakers.)
Long story! As we were ready to leave, Michael offered a ready made Black Walnut for me to take home since I made the effort to go to Pri...

The speakers are terrific! They sound great and they look great. The workmanship on the cabinet is excellent.
Excellent sound - beautiful construction
I've been thoroughly enjoying my Site:1 speaker. The sound reproduction is amazing for its size and the piece itself is beautiful like a work of art. The craftsmanship and passion really comes through. My reason for 4 stars is due to the bluetooth pairing implementation. It's very clunky. To make matters worse, the process has to be done every time I turn on my speaker and attempt to play music from my phone. It doesn't "remember" the pairing with my phone and automatically pick it up upon turning it on. I'd expect it to remember this pairing and be ready for use whenever I turn on the speaker.
Above and beyond
I live in Canada. Ordering the Site:1 and getting it shipped home is cost prohibitive. So, when I found out that I was going on a trip to the US, I ordered the speakers 3 days in advance. I told PA my situation, and even though they had a 2 week pipeline for orders, they shipped out my speakers same day and I was able to get it. All for no extra cost. No other company has ever done something this cool for me before. I'd give them a good review even if the speakers were meh.
But that's probably the best part. The speakers are pretty amazing. My dad had Nakamichi speakers when we were growing up, and they were amazing. This small hand held is actually better.
I'll get another pair for sure, because it's probably going to sound several times better in stereo.
This thing sounds great. Can't wait to get a 2nd!
Professional Musician's love the Site:1
I have now had my Site:1 speaker for a week and am enamored with it. My formal schooling was as a classical musician. Therefore, I chose the cherrywood speaker because it resonated beautifully in the tessitura of those instruments that I favor: the french horns, cellos, and the english horn. However, the other instruments are also well represented with perfect clarity and balance. You can hear the richness of overtones in the harmonic series. That is what is interesting about each of the tonewoods. In my opinion, different types of music can be heard to one's taste. Phrasing and other nuances are evident which is unusual, particularly for a speaker of this size. I can hear fingers moving on fingerboards as string players shift positions. I can hear breaths taken by wind and brass players. My son has Site:1 speaker in black walnut. I hardly know which I like better and may purchase a second in the black walnut so that I can pair them as stereo speakers and have it all. One quality that I have found, especially good for classical music listening, is that the speakers do not need to be adjusted in soft and loud passages. The separation and clarity of sound is like sitting in the middle of the orchestra. Thank you, Princeton Audio. What a thoughtful job you have done!
Beautiful quality bluetooth speaker
I bought my husband a wireless speaker for his birthday. It's not just a speaker; it's a beautiful piece to sit in your living room. The sound is out of this world. Just like stated; it sounds like a musical instrument. Beautiful. Don't let the price scare you, it is worth every penny. Quality in a world full of junk from China. Made in the USA by someone with a passion. So happy I stopped in your store and made the purchase.
This speaker is truly amazing in the clarity of sound, to the frequency range. The tonewood choice, really is the icing on the cake.
The Bluetooth Stereo is the only way to go!
Thru sheer luck I tested a Site:1 speaker, awesome cherrywood, last month. So fun to finally have product and listen via the portability in different places, on different substrates. SO WORTH THE WAIT! Now, however, my TWO Site:1s in Mahogany (cool & retro) are here! Listening with one Site:1 set to left channel, other right is AMAZING. Re-experiencing music I have listened to all my life! Remastered stuff, box-sets from ABB and Dead, explode thru the separation and live anew. Bravo!
Music to My Ears.. literally!
I have two major regrets in the early eighties. Selling my AR-11 speakers and that Fu-Manchu mustache. Those speakers had a tone that I've haven't heard since. When I got my Pono player that longing got even deeper every minute I listened to hi-rez files on my headphones. Then the Site:1 came along. A portable, palatable tone that is quite literally, music to the ears. As you can see from the picture I have it hard wired to my Pono. I also use the bluetooth when I'm listening to Apple Music. Please don't just think of "old school" when you look at this beautiful speaker. It takes tone into the 21st century kicking and screaming. It's just that the kick is tight and the scream is sweet. And NO I'm NOT growing the Fu Manchu back!
Incredible fantastic speakers.
These speakers are fantastic! My wife and I are glued to our music coming out of these high tech, beautiful sounding speakers. Plus, they are mobile so we take them room to room. The only problem is we may never leave our home again...
Better than my Bose!
My speaker is not just a beautiful piece of art, but the sound is incredible. My Bose Bluetooth speaker has been relegated to the garage - there is no comparison with the sound quality! Nicely done, and I'm proud to support a local business.
Beautiful and sounds even better!
So happy to have found Princeton Audio! We love our black walnut speaker- it is easy to connect to any smart phone, easy to use and we have yet to wear the battery down! The sound is amazing and we are looking forward to purchasing another for the stereo sound. We have been playing it almost non-stop since we purchased it. The design is beautiful and functional, and we love the fact that we can support a Wisconsin company and purchase quality hand made products!
The Site:1 speakers by Princeton Audio are individually crafted American-made tone-wood loudspeakers for those that value sound quality and pride of ownership. The sound quality is pristine, unlike plastic boxes that confuses booming bass for quality musical enjoyment. As perhaps the only rear-ported wooden Bluetooth-enabled speakers, a touch of comforting warmth invokes the acoustical quality of a musician's instruments. With strategic placement of these speakers, the sound emanates from both a larger space than implied by the size of the drivers. The cabinet's size, wood selection, and geometry create a sense of depth of the soundstage, unlike black boxes that rely upon bass diaphragms. Princeton Audio has brought to life our American heritage of craftsmanship deployed with the modern convenience of Bluetooth technology. Again, the sound quality is balanced across the frequency imbued with the warmth that your home deserves.
My music never looked this good.
A Beautiful Accent Piece!
You can't rush quality! Exquisite sound and classic design that fits well with any dcor - or out in nature! We can't wait to give one as a gift!
Replacing my Bose Radio Immediately
Not only is my mahogany speaker a beautiful addition to our home. I was and am amazed at the clarity of the sound. it clearly fills the room and there is no comparative to the Bose radio it is replacing.
Attractive + portable
I love the retro yet contemporary style; the large and rich sound; and the attractive portability. It's easy to carry around the house for music, podcasts or NPR news. It feels good in the hands, and this may be odd, but I feel a fond affection for it as I carry it.
